Most of what leaves this barn was drawn for one room, one family and one set of measurements. Here is exactly how that works, what it costs and how long it takes.

We come back with a scaled drawing, material samples where it helps, and a fixed price. Two rounds of changes are included as standard — most commissions need one.

A 40% deposit books your slot. Steel is cut and blackened, timber is machined and left to settle, stone is templated to the finished frame. You get photographs as it goes.

We bring it, carry it in and level it on your floor. Balance is due on delivery. Then we tell you how to look after it, which mostly means leaving it alone.

Our promise
If something in the workshop slips, you hear it from us first. We would rather lose a sale than give you a date we cannot keep.

For the trade
We fabricate to drawing for a small number of practices and studios, with trade terms, site surveys and coordination with your other trades. Steel bases, stone tops, islands, reception desks and shelving.

A bench starts around £1,200, a dining table around £4,800 and a kitchen island around £7,400. The variables are size, the stone you choose and how much steel fabrication is involved. Every quote is fixed before we start — we do not work on estimates that move.
Yes, and we do it often. Send the drawings and a schedule and we will come back with a fabrication-ready quote. We are used to working to site dimensions and to coordinating with kitchen and joinery trades.
English hardwood from sawmills within roughly a hundred miles of the workshop, air-dried and then conditioned indoors before machining. We will tell you which mill your boards came from.
Delivery and placement is included within 150 miles of Bath. Beyond that we quote it, and for anything overseas we crate the piece and work with a specialist shipper.
It will. We work from your measurements and we check access routes on anything large before the steel is cut. If we have made an error against the approved drawing, we put it right at our cost.
Occasionally, when it plays to what we do — a new steel base under an inherited top, or a stone top on an existing cabinet. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right workshop.
From the barn
Occasional letters — a finished commission, a run of offcut pieces, an open workshop day. Nothing more than once a month.
